Minneapolis Free Music Society WEDNESDAY NIGHT @ the Artists Quarter in Saint Paul

This is a really rare chance to see the members of Northern Cargo, who are also of the original members of the Minneapolis Free Music Society, an improvisatory music collective, play together.  Made up of electronics-infused trombonist Chris Robin Cox (of Junkyard Empire), veteran saxophonist Paul Peterson, multi-instrumentalist Jamie Paul Lamb (of Animal Gods and Cocaine Uzi), electric bassist Mike Bennett (also of Animal Gods and Cocaine Uzi), and the one and only Neil Wadhawan on drums, this group will get into some very interesting spaces.  A member of this band has been called "a musical maniac" by Dwight Hobbes.  Come to the show and see if you can guess who he is talking about.  The music if fully improvised, but like a great slam poet or a painter, or any other artists who really has honed in on their craft, it will not look or sound as though it has been simply pulled out of thin air.  To the contrary, you will be shocked at how cinematic and contextural the music is.
