Presale Tickets are HERE for the September 4th REBELLION POLITIK Release Party
That's right people, we have the tickets! If you buy the tix in advance, it does two things: guarantees you a seat and you show us how much you love us by committing to come to our show. And to entice you more, here is the line-up:
9pm - Samosa http://www.myspace.com/samosamusic9:45pm - El Gunate http://www.myspace.com/elguante
10:30pm - DAHR JAMAIL http://www.dahrjamailiraq.com
11:00pm - JUNKYARD EMPIRE!!!Dahr Jamail will be our special guest speaker for the evening. If you have not checked out his writing and reporing, you are in for a surprise. He is an internationally known dissident journalist reporting on things the mainstream media would rather lie about than report. He is a 5-time winner of a Project Censored award, and his latest book "the Will To Resist" is simply amazing. Here is a link to a recent piece of his: http://dahrjamailiraq.com/us-occupation-of-iraq-continues-unabated Our guest MC for the entire evening is none other than Carnage the Executioner. Carnage is a great friend of ours and was one of the first to give Junkyard Empire a weekend night at a good venue. We owe a lot to him, so we are really excited about having him MC the event. What can we say about El Guante? He might be the best damn slam poet walking in the Twin Cities right now and he can hold his own on any stage the world over, far as we're concerned. On top of that, he's an activist, educator, journalist, and blogger. He's our kind of people; he exemplifies the "rebellion politik" ethic! Samosa is a wonderful Indian fusion jazz trio, for lack of a better description, that is a joy to watch and to listen to. Headed up by drummer Neil Wadhawan, this band melts Indian raga jazz, rock, and free form improvisation. They will start the night off for us. It should also be noted that if it wasn't for Neil pestering us to let Brian Susco mix our record Rise of the Wretched, we would have never met Marc Nicolas, who ultimately signed us to his label MediaRoots Music. :) As if all that was not enough, we will also be debuting our music video! Hell, that's enough by itself right? Right. So if you want a ticket, just shoot us a not on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, or send an email to junkyardempire@gmail.com and we will get things going for you. We can also accept payment via Pay Pal; just send a note that you want to do it that way, and we'll hook you up with the right address.
